Welcome to STEPS to engineering |
STEPS to engineering was established in 2000 to encourage primary and post primary students to explore the world of science and engineering. The value of the programme has been formally recognised by Government and is a key element of the National "Discover Science & Engineering" programme. It is managed by Engineers Ireland and is supported by the Department of Education & Science, Forfás, FÁS and a number of major engineering employers. STEPS to engineering, with the help of dedicated volunteers promote engineering to students of all ages through various initiatives. In 2008, over 85,000 students nationwide participated in STEPS to engineering organised events. With many new and exciting projects in the pipeline this academic year promises to further encourage young people of Ireland to consider engineering as a possible career choice. |

Engineers Week 2010 will take place from Monday 8th to Saturday 13th February 2010. Activities will take place on the week before the mid-term break while Saturday, 13th February will host Engineers Week’s first family day!
