Engineers Week

Engineers’ Week is a week long programme of nationwide events with the aim of celebrating the world of engineering in Ireland. The aim of the week is to create a positive awareness and spark enthusiasm about the engineering profession to people of various ages with little or no engineering background.

In 2011, over 140 events took place with some of Ireland’s largest engineering employers will open their doors and welcome local students, teachers and families to learn more about the vital role engineers play in their local community.

National Volunteer Day

National Volunteer Day, run during Engineers Week is now a key feature.  On this day, volunteer engineers, with the co-operation of their employers and local schools, enter classes across the country and speak with students to improve their knowledge and appreciation of maths as well as tell them about the benefits of a career in engineering.
