Engineering Your Future - TY Students

Terms and Conditions for participating in Engineering Your Future at ESB

  • Students agree to take part in feedback surveys during or after the EYF programme. Engineers Ireland and/or ESB will from time to time contact students who attended EYF to gauge their ongoing interest levels in engineering and STEM over a number of years. Students agree to participate in these surveys. Students' contact details will be stored by Engineers Ireland and ESB for the purposes of this communication.
  • After EYF, students may occasionally be contacted by the STEPS programme and/or ESB with information relevant to engineering. Students' details will not be shared with other parties. Students' contact details will be stored by Engineers Ireland and ESB for the purposes of this communication.
  • Payment of a fee is required to secure a place on the EYF programme. If a student wishes to cancel their place within seven days of the start of the programme, fees are non-refundable. All cancellations must be confirmed in writing by email. Fees are posted on each institute's page in the EYF section of steps.ie. Students attending DEIS schools are exempt from payment of fees.
  • Students must provide a copy of their school's insurance policy when accepting a place on the EYF programme.
  • Students who are offered a place will be given a deadline by which to submit their Attendance Form and insurance documents. If the student does not meet this deadline, the student forgoes their place and the place may be offered to another student.
  • EYF Coordinators at each participating organisation will decide which students will be offered places, in accordance with their own set of criteria. All coordinators' decisions about place offers are final.
  • Students must cover their own travel expenses to and from the organisation.
  • Students must commit to attending every day of the EYF programme.
  • During EYF, students may not leave the ESB premises during the schedule of activities without express permission from the EYF Coordinator.
  • Students must obtain permission from their parent/guardian and TY Coordinator to attend the programme.
  • While attending EYF, ESB and/or Engineers Ireland may take photos or video footage of student activities. If you do not wish to appear in photos or videos, a written request from your parent/guardian must be submitted with your Attendance Form. These photos/videos may be used in promotional materials or media outreach by Engineers Ireland or participating organisations.
  • Students must conduct themselves as they would when attending a normal school day.
  • EYF programme content is subject to change and may differ from that previously described.
  • In the event of an EYF programme being cancelled or re-scheduled, student fees will be refunded, but Engineers Ireland will not be liable for any costs. This applies but is not limited to any travelling, subsistence or expenses incurred by students.
